INNOVATIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS
Our training and development programs are second to none. It’s why our co-workers command respect for their expertise on the jobsite and off. Here are some of the ways we equip our co-workers to deliver at a cut above:
Field Leadership Academy
The Baker Field Leadership Level 1 program is an eight-month course that provides foremen-level workers with the knowledge and skills to become certified “crew chiefs.” The program combines classroom-based sessions with structured jobsite application tasks. Sessions focus on four key areas:
- Understanding and rising to the standards of a Baker “crew chief”
- Having a balanced focus on safety, schedule, quality, and productivity
- Managing people and improving our workforce
- Owning the plan for your crew and effectively communicating it
Mobile Training Truck
It’s not always easy for our co-workers to take time away from their jobs for training. In response, our Great West Region developed a classroom on wheels. By bringing safety and other training programs to co-workers, the region’s training team can better support operational excellence while providing co-workers with the means to excel.
