Texas Tower

Located in one of the cultural centers of Houston, the 50-story Texas Tower promises to remake the city’s skyline — and Baker Concrete, working for Gilbane Building Company and Hines, has been there from the ground up. Baker is providing turnkey concrete services for the cast-in-place facility.

The urban high-rise project began in 2018 and is projected to be complete in late 2021. In March 2019, the team completed one 14,000-cu-yd continuous pour of a 12-foot-thick mat foundation slab. This challenging feat included placing 1,800 tons of rebar, consisting mostly of #18, 60-foot pieces. CEMEX supplied 14,000 cubic yards of ready-mix concrete in less than 20 hours.
