Cameron LNG Tanks

This package consisted of three massive circular, full-containment tanks, each 254 feet (ft) at the inside diameter and reaching 185 ft tall at the peak of the steel dome. Each tank has an elevated 3-ft thick base slab which sits upon a grid of 1100 pre-cast piles. The towering concrete walls encircling the tank reach 144 ft tall, tapering in thickness from 3 ft to 2 ft. The walls contained four 14-ft wide vertical buttresses at equidistant locations around the tank for post tensioning, each 5.5 ft thick. A 550-ton steel roof covered each with a 16-inch layer of reinforced concrete.
