Project Overview
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida underwent a nearly $1.5 billion expansion consisting of a larger casino, 60,000 square feet of retail and restaurant area, 7,000-seat theater venue, 10-acre lagoon pool, 41,000 square feet of spa space, and a new hotel. The main attraction is the colossal 450 foot guitar-shaped hotel which is 36 stories with 638 new rooms. Baker Concrete poured more than 80,000 cubic yards of concrete on the total project. Crews were able to complete one floor per week and the duration from pile caps to the building top out was 9 months and 1 week. Through the use of total stations and pre/post pour inspections Baker was able to install 7400 window embeds with only two embeds requiring rework. Baker Concrete Construction and the Hard Rock Team also received the Specialty Contractor of the Year and Eagle Award from local ABC Chapter in October 2019. This project was completed by our Fort Lauderdale, Florida, team.
