Project Overview
Completed in 2001, Empower Field at Mile High is home to the Denver Broncos. At 1.8 million square feet, the stadium can seat 76,125 spectators on five levels. Baker performed the $50 million hard-bid contract with total package and batch plant services. The foundation for the superstructure was a combination of pile caps at the drilled piers, spread footing, and continuous footing under the walls. The project required 29,000 cubic yards of concrete, 700,000 pounds of post-tension material, 1,750 tons of rebar, and 9,400 squares of welded wire mesh. The stadium was designed and built by Turner/Empire/Alvarado Construction and HNTB Architects using design assist.There were five elevated decks containing a total of 820,000 sf of floor area. 29,000 cy of concrete, 700,000 lbs. of post-tension material, 1,750 tons of rebar, and 9,400 squares of welded wire mesh were utilized on the superstructure.
