Project Overview

This $16 million project upgraded and expanded the Fort Knox Water Treatment Facility, increasing its treatment capacity from 7 MGD to 9 MGD to enhance reliability and operational efficiency for Fort Knox and the surrounding communities. The work included modifications to aeration basins, media filters, oxidation and control systems, chemical feed facilities, pumping infrastructure, and electrical and SCADA systems. The team developed a turnkey bulk lime silo system with an integrated slurry tank, controls, and pumping equipment, repurposed an existing powdered activated carbon (PAC) system to restore seasonal treatment capabilities and improve operational flexibility, and delivered critical process, mechanical, and electrical improvements through collaborative value engineering.
